Starving for Something More

Read: Matthew 5: 6

“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Reflect:
Like a child whose diet consists of little more than cotton candy, many of us are starving spiritually for something more and we are not aware of it.  Why?

The truth is that we are often so preoccupied with other things (some worthwhile, some not) that we have no real appetite for spiritual things. But Christ has promised satisfaction for those who are hungry and thirsty for righteousness.

Respond:

It’s a matter of priorities, wouldn’t you agree? In order to fill the void in our lives, we must stay hungry.

Take an inventory of what you did yesterday.  is there another appetite that was filled?  Was there anything at all that limited your appetite for the things of God?
