Since 2020 we’ve seen lots of shaking in our world and 2021 has really only seen change accelerate. Lockdowns. Political unrest. Natural disasters. Economic woes. Tyranny. Riots. Unless you’ve spent the first few months of 2021 under a rock, I think you get the idea.
But there is one thing that is unshakeable.
The writer of Hebrews tells us that when all the shaking is said and done only “what cannot be shaken may remain.”
What remains? The Kingdom of God. And as believers we are part of His kingdom.
So how should we respond to this message?
- Accept the message of God. (verse 25)
- Be grateful (verse 28) for the eternal Kingdom of God by living lives that honor Him.
- Worship God with reverence and awe (verse 28) and remember that worship is more than singing a few songs on Sunday. Worship can be practiced in everything we do today as we give honor to God within our relationships, at our jobs, and at home.
Think about it. As the world around us is being shaken, what will our lives say about our faith in God?
