They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”

This weekend, Patrina and I watched Sound of Freedom, the story of one man’s effort to free children from sexual slavery that is more rampant than most will acknowledge. Just a few years ago, the idea of sexual slavery was a hot topic, but as I searched for articles related to the movie, I found mostly articles diminishing the idea as an international problem.

Why would people attempt to minimize such evil? Why are so many followers of Christ ambivalent about the problem?

A few years ago, Patrina and I traveled to Cambodia and saw the impact of sexual slavery firsthand through a ministry committed to helping young girls escape the grips of deviancy and evil.

There is great evil in our world expressed in any number of ways and so I am reminded of the verse from Revelation above. It’s the same sentiment expressed by David in the verses we considered on Friday. How long will the Lord wait?

Peter had another answer for all of us –
