Enter his gates with thanksgiving,
Psalm 100:4-5
and his courts with praise!
Give thanks to him; bless his name!
For the LORD is good;
his steadfast love endures forever,
and his faithfulness to all generations.
This morning I spoke with a friend about her Thanksgiving tradition. This year, she will spend the day with her husband instead of traveling to visit family. Another couple of friends will be gathering with their family during a more than challenging health crisis.
For us, this will be the first time we will celebrate the holiday with each member of our immediate family for the first time in several years.
No matter our circumstances, today is a day when we should give thanks to God for the blessings in our lives, even if life presents challenges (and life does present its challenges, doesn’t it?).
Earlier this week I read this quote from A.W. Tozer –
Take time to give thanks today, it will make the meaning of the day richer.
