Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men,
Colossians 3:23
A couple of years ago, we took our grandsons to see the Ark Experience in Williamstown. I think sometimes we dismiss the time, effort, and dedication to the task Noah and his sons faced. A trip to the Ark Encounter will give you an idea of how massive the Ark was as described in Scripture, not to mention the animals and supplies needed to prepare for an event that had never happened before as the flood destroyed all that lived on the earth.
I can think of no better example of perseverance than the example of Noah. In addition to the ark, imagine the ridicule he faced from the people on earth! The term speaks to a person’s ability or desire or determination to see a project to its completion.
Just as Noah was called to complete his task, we are called to persevere, but we are called to do more than just survive. We are called to thrive.
I am reminded of Paul’s words –
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7
Are you determined to finish strong? Faithfulness begins a new today.
