Philippians 3: 13-14

Why is it that we make resolutions in the first place? I think we all desire to be better, to make more of our lives, to live a life worth living. We want to do what Tozer says below –

That’s the message Paul expressed in his letter to the Philippians and his message resonates with me again and again.

Paul would not dwell on the successes or failures of the last year or decade, he would simply continue the journey toward Christ so that at the end he would maintain his “eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain” (Philippians 1:20-21).

As we begin another new year, let’s take this to heart. On this day let’s make the choices that will make a lasting legacy.
