For the eyes of the LORD run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to give strong support to those whose heart is blameless toward him.
2 Chronicles 16:9
This morning we heard a local pastor speak on one of the seven sayings of Christ while He hung on the cross. I don’t intend to address his sermon in detail, but today’s passage provided comfort for those living in uncertain times and no one experienced more uncertainty than those early followers of Christ. As the crucifixion, their dreams appeared to be shattered.
At the close of his message, he presented the Scripture from 2 Chronicles above.
More often than not I’ve thought of that verse as one of encouragement for the person who wants to accomplish something for God, but today I read it in a slightly different light.
For those who are committed to God with their whole heart, God is there to support them even in difficult, uncertain times.
We all face uncertainty. We all face difficulties from time to time. in those times are we leaning on our wisdom or are we doubling down on our faith and confidence in God?
Today’s service ended with the following lyrics-
All my life, You have been faithful
All my life, You have been so, so good
With every breath that I am able
Oh, I will sing of the goodness of God
How often do we consider the goodness of God in every instance?
