Read: Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
Reflect:
In a sales meeting, our team was asked to give a definition of “impact”. One of the definitions was to “influence strongly forward a specific action.” We all want to make an impact with our lives, don’t we?
Think about it for a moment. Is the Word of God making an impact in your life? Do you allow the Scripture to speak into every part of your life? Your truthfulness? Finances? Sexuality? Entertainment? Relationships? Is there anything or anyone that is off-limits?
The intent of the Scripture is make a maximum impact in our everyday life so that we can then impact those around us. But first the work is done inside of us. The Word is sharp. The Word pierces. The Word discerns what we’re thinking and what motivates our actions.
Respond:
Let’s do more than pay lip service to the power and influence of God’s Word in our lives. To make an impact we must allow Him to transform us by renewing our minds so that we live in such a way that brings honor to His Name.
