Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Matthew 6:31-34

While the people around us are preoccupied with their daily needs, there should be a difference between us and the rest of the world, don’t you agree? In this passage from Matthew, Jesus makes this promise –

First, seek God’s kingdom and His righteousness, and then your needs will be met.

What does it mean to seek God’s kingdom?

Over the last couple of weeks, we’ve read and considered Jesus’ challenge to all of His would-be followers. He does not want any half-hearted attempts or self-reliance. He is looking for us to trust Him in all things and this is a lesson I am continuing to learn each day.
