The heavens declare the glory of God,

Psalm 19: 1-2

This weekend I watched a short clip where an international leader (of sorts) dismissed the idea of God and morality and heaven and hell as nothing more than fantasy. In his opinion, man is nothing more than any other animal on the planet. What a hopeless view of the world around us!

In the Psalm above, David begins with an observation of the world around us. It baffles me that in a time when we can see much more of the universe than the patriarchs, that many fail to believe that there is a God at work in it all.

For those, I am reminded of Paul’s words from the opening chapter of the book of Romans:

For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Romans 1:19-20

We are without excuse. Take a look at the complex world we live in an give God the awe He is due.
