Joel 3: 1-2a

In our lives, war tends to extend from months to years and it seems that war always persists somewhere in our world, but there will be a day when war will come to a swift end and then there will be God’s judgment.

Jesus spoke of this future in Matthew 25 –

“When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

Matthew 25:31-32

Like the sheep and the goats there will be many in the valley of decision –

Multitudes, multitudes
in the valley of decision!
For the day of the LORD is near
in the valley of decision.
The sun and the moon are darkened,
and the stars withdraw their shining

Joel 3:14-15

Judgment is coming and we can be comforted in a couple of ways. First, God is just and His judgment will be fair.

Second, God is in control of all history including everything we see today. Man is not in control or we would certainly be headed toward disaster.
