Read: Matthew 6:7-8
9 Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
10 Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Reflect:
Take a look at The Lord’s Prayer above. Jesus said our prayer should be that the Father’s will be done here on earth in our lives as His will is done in heaven.
When talking about our needs later in Matthew 6, Jesus instructs us to “seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
In 1 John 5:14-15 we read, “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us-whatever we ask-we know that we have what we asked of him.”
Respond:
Consider this quote from Craig Groeschel –
“Prayer reminds you that you’re not in control and keeps you close to the one who is.”
