When Life is Hard

Read: Job 23:10

But he knows the way that I take;
when he has tried me, I shall come out as gold.

Reflect:

Life has changed pretty dramatically over the last week or so, hasn’t it? To be honest, I’m not quite sure what to think at times, but I am sure of the truth found in the verse above. For those of us who follow Christ, the best is ahead for us.

Job 23:10 tells us that “He knows the way I take”. He knows what is going on in my life today. He knows where I have failed. He knows every detail of my life.

So any trial (even this one)  can be an opportunity to grow. “When He has tried me, I shall come out as gold.” God’s purpose is to bring me into maturity. He wants to draw me closer to Him.

Respond:

So when we, like Job, are wondering where God is in a situation, let’s remember that God is changing us. Like the potter and the clay, He is molding us into what His greatest desire is for us.

God is for us. Really. If we can grasp that Truth, it can make a tremendous difference every day. So, start this day with a new perspective. Remember that God is for you and wants nothing more than for you to draw close to Him.
